Awaji island walk..

Today I went out for a walk with Asa, one of the other artists to look round a part of the local area we hadn't seen.  Here are some of the local sights.

We have one more week in the Nagasawa studio and then we move all our equipment to the residency to work.  At least then we won't have to get up at 6am every morning.  I am looking forward to tomorrow when we are going to the Earthquake museum [Awaji was devastated by one a little over 10 years ago] a bonsai museum and then the Noh play.

The eagle in the photograph lives in the trees next door to the house.

Hello Jason! What a great blog-- I think the details and close up of the work you're doing are important. Also group pictures and area walks tell alot. The master carver sounds a bit ominous and onerous-- 14 blocks.. sitting kneeling for seven hours--- good heavens are you doind that? How is 'the group' holding up-- have you learned from them too?
I'm really impressed with how involved youre getting with it and the cricket picture is fantastic. Keep it up!

Such a sense of light and air seems to come from your photos.
